Job Description
The role of National Account Director is a diverse one, and is responsible for looking after a specific retail channel and their stores on a National basis, with an experienced supporting team already in place. The key tasks are as follows:
- Manage the day to day aspects of the sales, operational and marketing relationship for this key client channel.
- Provide strategic direction to ensure strong year on year growth is achieved in line with corporate and commercial objectives of my client.
- Manage and mentor the Sales team to ensure behaviors and sales activities are fully aligned with the retailer's Sales and Operational Management goals.
- Build and leverage key relationships within the retailer channel and internally within my client to ensure strategic direction and objectives are achieved.
- Managed Australia wide team with heavy involvement in training both internally and externally with the retailer. There is travel involved with this role and this will mainly be short, interstate trips.
- Manage weekly sales and budget calls with Senior Management and lead conferences or meetings as required.
The Successful Applicant
The successful applicant will have the following skills:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in National Sales Management with a proven successful track record, ideally within the Retail sales or FMCG sales sectors
- Experience in channels working with major retailers, managing a national team, strategic thinker and a strong hunger to succeed would be highly desirable. This would also be coupled with a previous loyalty and stability within former roles to employers.
- Proven track record in identifying opportunities, working up cost benefits, presenting plans which are fully costed and executing successfully.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use statistics to identify opportunities and apply commercial approaches to executions.
- Strong leadership qualities to lead and motivate channel sales team promoting a success based culture, with proven experience in this and demonstrable results
- An outstanding communicator: be able to communicate effectively via all mediums and build strong professional relationships at all levels within the retail channel.
What's on Offer
Circa $six figure base, + car + super + tools and there is also a two tier bonus structure in place, subject to deliverable targets.
